Akasa Air, India’s newest airline, revealed the first look at its crew members on Monday and the internet reacted to the same. Backed by ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, the airline introduced the ‘formal but cool’ uniform with youthful and contemporary designs with colors that appear warm, friendly and cheerful.

As shared by the Indian airline, crew members will be seen donning personalized pants, jackets and comfy trainers which would further enhance member comfort. Revealing the all new look, Akasa Air tweeted, “Comfortable, eco-friendly and fun. Introducing Akasa Air’s all new Aircrew Uniforms designed to maintain our organization’s core value of prioritizing the comfort of our employees and the environment.

In a statement, the airline provided details about the uniform and how it will help crew members carry out their duties comfortably.

“The uniform is inspired by the company’s core beliefs of employee focus and sustainability. The pant and jacket fabric was specially designed for Akasa Air, using recycled polyester fabric made from pet bottle plastic reclaimed from marine litter. The uniform fit focuses on providing the best possible stretch to keep employees comfortable during their busy flight schedules.Considering the style of crewmembers’ mobile lives and long hours spent on their feet, Vanilla Moon has designed sneakers that are lightweight and contain extra heel-to-toe cushioning to provide better support,” the airlines said.

Earlier on Sunday, Akasa Air shared a teaser of the crew members’ new look with glimpses of the uniform and sneakers through a 20-second black-and-white video. Jet Airways CEO Sanjiv Kapoor also reacted.
